The 2021 digital benchmarking report, powered by the Smart Infrastructure Index, identifies best practice and areas of further improvement for members of the Infrastructure Client Group's Digital Transformation Task Group, which evolved from the Project 13 Digital Transformation Pillar. 

This is the fourth year of the survey and there was a better spread of responses across organisations than previous years, with a larger and wider dataset, giving a more accurate representation of the industry.

The report identified five overarching cross-category insights:

• More data not yet translating to better decision-making
• A need to focus on digital skills
• Acknowledging the need for investment
• Organisations are becoming more resilient
• Closer alignment to customer outcomes

It also contains case studies from Environment Agency and Tideway on skills, Anglian Water on digital twins, Sellafield on common data environments, UK Power Networks on digital operating models and the Climate Resilience Demonstrator digital twin.

The report is deliberately only in digital format and is best viewed in desktop rather than mobile.
