Digital Twin - Operations and Management Frameworks

Context:

In the physical space of Habitat (Cities, Villages or Region) there are structures and facilities with associated Operations and Business Processes. These Operations (Facility Management, Power, Water, Parking, Wastewater, Stormwater etc) have clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Programs attached each facility and function. These facilities also have clear market and economic value chains attached with associated Management frameworks.

Then, when we create Digital Twins of the same "Physical Space" - there is a need for Operations and Management Frameworks to handle the corresponding activities using digital tools. This is an important areas of DigitalTwin Standards, Procedures, SOPs, Management frameworks not being developed in the world yet.

Discussion:

Given the above context of Operations and Management requirements - what are the key steps we can develop to address those Operations and Management needs?

Hi @Ajay Nair - great area for discussion. One step is to identify the information requirements from the existing Operation and Management frameworks.  Check out this report on process-based information requirement:

Good point - it is very important for all Organizations to have a Enterprise Systems Architecture (ESA) - which includes Information, Data, Hardware, Process, Role, Security, Access, communication, Alerts etc. etc. These Systems Architectures are usually developed in alignment with the Organizational Vision, Mission, Goals, Frameworks, Operations, Marketing, Customercare etc. The Information Management from pure 'demand-side' of data/information may need to match with future potential growth, data volume, user base etc. to stay relevant in the operational future scenarios. These are important topics, Planners need to be ware of when dealing with Information, data, output.

We traditionally work with 'static' or rested past data but increasingly and realistically we live in very dynamic operational world even going towards connected robotic operations in the future!!
