Energy System Digital Twin: Launch of the Augmented Visual Demonstrator

Digital Twins are becoming more and more prevalent within a multitude of sectors and potentially offer strategic insights for decision makers to address key aspects of the question: ‘How do we decarbonise energy?’ 

The Cyber-Physical Infrastructure project was commissioned by Innovate UK to increase capability within the Catapult network to support the development of Digital Twin solutions.  This event sees improvements to the Visual demonstrator developed as part of the Energy System Digital Twin Demonstrator Project, commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy – Central Modelling Team. These improvements include new functionality to manage uncertainty and account for human behaviour, as well as additional visual tools to assist decision makers and trace back outcomes to their causes. We invite you to join Energy Systems Catapult, Frazer-Nash Consultancy and CityScape for our virtual launch event. You’ll have the chance to see the improvements and additional functionality of the demonstrator, and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions around where we can see digital twins providing the most value to the energy sector, as well as what the next steps might look like.
