What is the goal of the working groups 

To develop demonstrable evidence and supporting materials to progress two primary objectives. The first objective is to develop evidence and supporting materials that enable decision makers to easily understand the value and benefit of funding digital twins. The second objective is to develop evidence and supporting materials that will provide the guidance and framework for individuals to develop their own digital skills so that they can contribute to the development and implementation of digital twins.

Led and supported by DT Hub Strategic Board members  

What is the impact of joining the working Group?  

  • Influence the strategic direction of the working group 
  • Shape the development and publication of demonstrable evidence and supporting materials  
  • Provide feedback on long term strategic direction  

The type of expertise the group is looking for?  

We are looking to select 10-12 experts to help inform the future outputs and outcomes aligned with working group goals. The working group is primarily for individuals who have substantial experience or expertise in the sectors mentioned below.  

  • Public Sector: An individual who has experience working and partnering with central, local and international governments, governmental agencies, and/or formulating agreements between said governments and their agencies.  
  • Financial Services: An individual who has experience working and partnering with insurers, investors, lenders/bankers, and/or other financial service providers.  
  • Academia: An individual who has experience working and partnering with universities, schools, living labs and research centres, and/or research councils. 
  • Civil Society: An individual who has experience working and partnering with community groups, non-profit organisations, and/or workers and labour organisations. 
  • Regulator: An individual who has experience working and partnering with different regulatory agencies including but not limited to Ofcom, Ofgem, Ofwat, EA, ONR, and ICO.  
  • Communication and story developing: An individual who has experience in drafting and creating communication plans and strategies, and/or drafting organisation/educational storytelling.  

What are the required commitments?  

As a member of the Business Case and Digital Skills working groups, you are expected to: 

  • Attend a bi-weekly working group meeting 
  • Provide your expertise and network to progress the working group’s goals and deliverables 
  • Shape and inform the role of the groups at the Connected Digital Twins Summit on 22nd June, in London

What is the Connected Digital Twins Summit and why are working groups presenting? 

  • At the Connected Digital Twins Summit, UK and international Digital Twin Hub community members will convene to explore the latest cross-industry, business applications of digital twins that are creating impact and ROI. Over 350+ senior-level policymakers, corporate asset owners, solution providers, academics, and investors will come together to experience live demonstrations and interactive showcases, and gain access to new tools to enable business decisions. 
  • The Business Case and Digital Skills working groups will provide an update on their progress and the materials they have created. Additionally, this presentation will enable the working group to gain valuable insight and feedback from the DT Hub community.  

When are the meetings? 

  • Meetings are likely to be every other Friday at 16:30 with the first being Friday 5th of May
  • Presentation at Connected Digital Twins Summit on 22nd June 

How do I apply 

  • To apply, please complete the application form: APPLY HERE!
  • The application period will close on Friday 21 April. Upon 21 of April, the working group leads and the DT Hub operational team will meet to complete the selection process. The selection process will entail evaluating all responses based upon applicants' expertise, organisation, role, and other form answers. 
  • Once the selection process has been completed, you will be notified on Friday 25 April with a decision on whether you have or have not been selected.
